About Us

Cedar Communities is an investment company aimed at acquiring undervalued assisting living facilities. The partners of Cedar Communities bring a wealth of knowledge aimed at maximizing value all the while providing residents with a warm, compassionate and friendly environment to call home. Our research and focus deploys capital on facilities that meet strict purchase requirements aimed at delivering the highest return for our investors.

Scott has been, since 1979, a NYS Department of Health (DOH) licensed administrator as well as owner / operator of Assisted Living Facilities the Babylon Beach House and New Windsor Country Inn. Scott has managed facilities in size from 21 to 172 beds. His long experience with facilities of varying sizes has drawn him to focus on the mid-market of 40-100 bed facilities. Scott holds a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Albany, a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Long Island University, and Health Insurance licenses in 9 states.

Anthony is a real estate professional with a broad based understanding of commercial real estate, economic development and tax incentives. His experience in real estate runs deep, structuring hundreds of millions of dollars in lease and acquisition transactions both in the private and public sectors. Anthony was previously the CEO and Executive Director of the Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency (IDA). Suffolk County is larger in population than 11 States in the Country. At the IDA he led the rebranding efforts of the agency and created cutting edge initiatives during his tenure. His efforts bolstered Suffolk County’s economy with the retention and creation of thousands of jobs, tens of millions of new payroll dollars generated, along with millions in private sector capital expenditures aimed to drive growth.

Richard is a successful entrepreneur and angel investor with experience in the real estate, assisted living and construction industries. Richard was named the “Youngest Entrepreneur” by the New York Times and has appeared in a wide variety of radio, TV, and print nationwide. In addition, Rich is President of the holdings company for his business investments and ventures as well as Managing Director of a leading syndicate venture capital fund. He has led numerous M&A deals acquiring and exiting businesses in a variety of industries. Richard currently serves as Managing Director of Cedar Communities, where he uses his industry experience to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company.
